The MMU Guild President Mr. Mujulizi Dan, explained that the day’s 1st guild executive meeting was the first of its kind under MMU as a public institution and that it was laying a strong foundation for those that were to come after their regime.

Mr. Mujulizi explained that the meeting was intended to bring together executive members of the guild council to understand protocol especially the communication flow in a Public University; map out how best to benefit from government programmes such as the Parish Development Model, and forge a way forward on how best the guild leadership can improve student welfare on campus.

The University Councilor Ms. Gorret Kugonza encouraged the student leaders to work closely with the University administration so as to be able to collectively improve the general student welfare.

The meeting concluded with the planting of indigenous trees (Prunus Africana, Umbrella tree among others) around the University Campus as a sign of conserving the environment.
