To provide leadership to all matters relating to students’ affairs in the University.

KEY FUNCTIONS

  2. Oversee the implementation of all ICT projects within a coordinated operational plan in accordance with the University Strategic plan.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To provide overall enhancement and enrichment of the learner experience through the use of available technology across the University.

KEY FUNCTIONS

  1. Organize and develop the University Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) by installing updates and modules and being able to regularly upgrade the Learning Management System (LMS) Platform of the University.
  2. Take the lead in ensuring E Safety within the University.
  3. Advise staff on the best use of their areas of the Virtual Learning Environment and the University internet and Intranet.
  4. Run training programmes for staff on the use of the VLE, Intranet, Smart boards and all aspects of E Learning to facilitate the delivery of outstanding lessons.
  5. Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all the University Smart boards.
  6. Manage the E Learning Co-coordinators and oversee the delivery of regular staff training in the application of E Learning and ICT based tools; and oversee project work to be delivered by Co-coordinators as required.
  7. Plan activities appropriate to support development and innovative project work relating to E-learning and its infra-structure.
  8. Manage a team of E Learning Coordinators, who advise students and staff about the everyday running of the University E learning programme.
