INSTITUTIONAL CAPACITY BUILDING IN PUBLIC HEALTH TEACHING IN RURAL UGANDA PROJECT.
This was a four-year partnership project between the Institute of Tropical Medicine and International Health, Chartie, Berlin, Germany and School of Health Sciences, MMU.
The project aimed at strengthening the educational systems for health professional in Uganda through capacity building in teaching and curriculum development at MMU. The activities were: joint development of a new teaching module on “Global Health” to complement the Master of Public Health curriculum at MMU; review and assess the existing distance learning materials of the MPH programme; short course training of staff at the Institute of Tropical Medicine and International Health, Charite; joint organization and teaching of one week suller/winter schools in Germany and Uganda.
The project was coordinated by Prof. Dr. Gundel Harms – Zwingenberger, Director ITMIH, Charite University and Professor John Rubaihayo, MMU.
