KULE Birengesyo Eriya is a Lecturer at Mountains of the Moon University (MMU), in the Faculty of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences (FAES), Department of Agricultural Extension and Community Engagement and he is a PhD Research Fellow in the Department of Extension and Innovation Studies (DEIS) at Makerere University. He holds a Master’s of Science Degree in Agricultural Extension and Education and a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Agricultural  Land Use and Management from Makerere with over 15 years of experience in Agriculture Extension, Research, and Teaching. Before joining MMU, Eriya served as   Senior Agriculture Officer at Ntroroko District Local Government and was a Graduate Research Fellow at  International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) and a Community Livelihood Facilitator with World Vision and Save the Children. He holds numerous postgraduate certificates in Agriculture Extension Management, Sustainable Land Management, Project Planning and Management, Vegetable Production, Soil Testing, Family Health and Nutrition, Plant Doctor and Clinic Operation, and UNADA Certificate in the Safe Use of Agro-chemicals. He is a professional member of the Uganda Forum for Agricultural Advisory Service Providers and a World Bank-certified Agriculture Production Consultant with Promote Uganda, Mwess and Partners Consultancy Firms, assessing the performance of Agriculture Extension under the office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uganda.

Before joining Mountains of the Moon University, Kule Birengesyo Eriya raised through ranks in local government as Agriculture Advisory Service Provider, Subcounty NAADS Coordinator, Agriculture officer and Senior Agriculture Officer in  Ntoroko and Bundibugyo  Districts due to outstanding performance in establishing crop farming in traditional pastoral Livestock communities in Buutuku Pastoral zone, promotion of apiculture,  aquculture and sustanable capture fisheries under NAADS program in Ntoroko District, promotion of local seed business groups in partnership with  Integrated Seed Sector Development(ISSD)  and contribution to the Development of  Ntoroko District Disaster Contingency Plan and a good track record of participating in writing projects which attracted funding to Ntoroko from  Local Economic Growth Support project  (LEGS)  funded by Islamic Development Fund through Ministry of Local Government and Food and Agriculture Organisation of United Nations.  As an independent academic, Eriya has so far won two Research grants from IITA 2015, leading to the award of a Master of Science Degree from Makerere University, and most recently an award from Mak. RIF 2023-2024  PhD fellowship Grant funded by the Government of Uganda as a one-year partial contribution to his PhD research work at Makerere University. He is a professional member of the Uganda Forum for Agricultural Advisory Service Providers.
