The Directorate of Human Resource Management is responsible for the process of employee entry, stay and exit through ensuring quality selection and appointments, development of skills, staff motivation and promoting continued commitment towards service delivery.

The key functions of the Directorate include the following: –

  • Guide, interpret and advise Managers on matters of Human Resources Management;
  • Develop and review Policies, Regulations, practices and procedures relating to Human Resources;
  • Plan and forecast appropriate number of employees depending on the University annual Workplan and Budget;
  • Coordinate Recruitment and Selection of staff according to laid down procedures;
  • Plan and coordinate the assessment of Human Resource Development needs and organize training and other human resource development interventions;
  • Coordinate implementation of a comprehensive Performance Management program;
  • Provide employee welfare, relations and good working conditions, among others.
