Alipa Jorem serves as a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Crop and Animal Production at Mountains of the Moon University, where he supports undergraduate training in courses such as Principles of Plant Breeding, Seed Science and Technology, Crop Protection, General Agronomy, and Plant Pathology, among others. His role reflects a strong commitment to teaching and capacity building in agricultural sciences.
In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Jorem is pursuing a Master of Science in Plant Breeding and Seed Systems at Makerere University, under the Department of Agricultural Production. His research focuses on the inheritance of anthracnose resistance in Ugandan market class genotypes of common beans, with the goal of contributing to the development of disease-resistant and farmer-preferred varieties that strengthen Uganda’s bean breeding programs.
His research interests include plant breeding, seed science, agronomy, and plant pathology, with practical experience in disease resistance breeding.
