Estates and Works Department

Welcome to the Office of Estates and Works, the department entrusted with managing, maintaining, and enhancing the University’s physical infrastructure and environment. Our office plays a central role in ensuring that all buildings, grounds, and facilities provide a safe, functional, and inspiring setting for learning, research, and innovation.

The Office is composed of several key units: Maintenance and Operations (Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil), Projects and Construction Management, Utilities and Energy Management, Property and Asset Management, Health, Safety and Environment, and Transport and Fleet Management. Together, these units work collaboratively to support the University’s mission through strategic planning, responsible resource management, and timely service delivery.

To plan, develop, and maintain professional, cost-effective, reliable, and efficient physical infrastructure systems that provide the Mountain of the Moon University community and the broader public with a safe, functional, and supportive academic and living environment.

To be a trusted custodian of the University’s infrastructure, fostering an enabling academic atmosphere and driving excellence in maintenance, design, and the execution of development projects.

The Department’s key responsibilities include:

  1. Ensuring the proper upkeep, functionality, and management of all University infrastructure and facilities.
  2. Executing small-scale civil, electrical, and mechanical projects to support ongoing operational needs.
  3. Overseeing the planning, procurement, and implementation of major development and construction projects.
  4. Safeguarding University assets, installations, and utilities against damage, misuse, and loss.
  5. Serving as the technical advisory arm of University Management on all matters related to infrastructure development, maintenance, and utilities management.
