Africa Royal Heritage Museum Explores Strategic Partnership with Mountains of the Moon University

On 7th October 2025, the Africa Royal Heritage Museum (ARHM) team, led by Director Patrick Kasagame, held a high-level meeting with the leadership of Mountains of the Moon University (MMU) to present an exciting partnership proposal.

  • Prof. Pius Coxwell Achanga – Vice Chancellor, MMU
  • Dean of Students Roselyne Ssali
  • University Librarian Dr. Aregu Raphael
  • Dr. Ronald Kalulu – Tourism Lecturer
  • Dr. Evarist Ngabirano – Social Sciences

The purpose of the engagement was to explore the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between ARHM and MMU aimed at fostering collaboration in cultural heritage preservation, research, and education.

A key highlight of the proposed partnership is the potential to position MMU as a UNESCO Heritage Site, a milestone that would elevate the university’s global profile while promoting cultural preservation and academic excellence.

This collaboration promises to unlock significant opportunities for innovation, heritage research, and community engagement in the Rwenzori region and beyond.
