On Friday, 8th August 2025, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (FHSS) at Mountains of the Moon University held its Faculty Board meeting at the Lake Saaka main Campus, assembling together departmental heads, coordinators, and senior academic leaders to plan for the year ahead.
The meeting followed a comprehensive agenda that included departmental reports from the Heads of Social Sciences and Humanities, as well as the Coordinator of Graduate Research. Coordinators from other units also shared crucial operational briefs.
The Faculty Dean, Dr. Mutabaruka Fredrick, in his opening remarks, applauded board members for their consistent dedication and the tangible contributions they have made toward the growth and development of the Faculty.
He urged members particularly Heads of Departments to approach the new financial year with transformed commitment and accountability, noting that he would not take responsibility for any lapses in the execution of Faculty activities.
Substantial resolutions were passed, including the approval of Semester Two 2024/2025 examination results, endorsement of the Faculty Research Structure, and adoption of the Faculty Strategic Plan all of which will serve as guiding frameworks for the Faculty’s academic and developmental priorities.
The meeting concluded with an enriched sense of purpose, accentuating the Faculty’s determination to be a center of excellence in teaching, research, and community engagement in the Rwenzori region and beyond.
