With a few days to the new Academic Year 2024/2025 the Student Affairs Department of Mountains of the Moon University (MMU) has successfully concluded a two-day student leadership induction of the 18th guild.
In his opening remarks His Excellency Lawrent Alijuna, the Guild President thanked the student affairs department for organizing such a great event, as it is a beginning point of their leadership journey.
Roselyne Ssali, the Dean of Students called for collaboration, coordination and co-existence as leaders of the University. “It is important as leaders to work as a team, be accountable and transparent to your electorates”, she said.
Prof. John M. Kasenene, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor in charge of Academic Affairs and Outreach, argued the guild leaders to lead by example; fulfill the promises made to the voters; and concentrate on studies since leadership is secondary. “You came here to study, so it should be your priority and you however, decided to take on leadership as another role, which is secondary”, he added.
