Byaruhanga Alex Muganda is a student of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Fine Art at Maseno University, Kisumu Campus in Kenya. He is an experienced educator and academic leader with over two decades of service in art and Design education and institutional leadership and administration due to his multidisciplined academic professions in both Art and Design and in Education Management.

He began his  career in 2005-2009 as an Art Teacher at Rugaaga Modern School in Isigiro district, 2010 Welfare teacher at Bishop Stuart Vocational Secondary school Mbarara District, 2011 Head of Art Department at Rubaare Foundation college and Ruyonza Seed school all in Ntungamo district demonstrating strong commitment to curriculum delivery and student mentorship.

His leadership trajectory advanced when he was appointed Assistant Director of Studies at Ntungamo Girls’ High School 2012, Full Director of Studies 2013-2014, a role in which he  oversaw academic programs and instructional standards of Ntungamo Girls’ High School. He subsequently served as Deputy Head Teacher from 2014 to 2015, and Assistant Director in 2016, contributing significantly to administrative coordination and school programs and development.

From 2017 to 2022, he served as the full Head Teacher of Ntungamo Girls High School, leading the institution through growth in academic excellence and organizational performance.

Through his leadership as the Headteacher, from 2017 to 2022, he managed to put Ntungamo Girls’ High School on the Map.  This is evidenced by 1st position in Ntungamo District in UACE 2017 and 32nd  in UACE National ranking in 2017 on average aggregate (New Vision of Thursday February 22, 2018 pages 56 and 58 respectively). The School again maintained the 1st position in Ntungamo District in UACE 2018 (Saturday Vision 2nd March, 2019 page 37), and 20th position in UACE National ranking in 2018 (New Vision 1st March, 2019). Still in 2019 UACE 1st position in Ntungamo District, 25th position in National ranking (Daily Monitor February 28, 2020),  in 2020 UACE again 1st position in Ntungamo District and 27th position (Saturday Vision August 21, 2021) while in 2022 UACE Again 1st position in the District and 21st in National ranking  respectively.

Byaruhanga Alex Muganda  also served in different capacities i.e  as the Vice Chairperson Academics- Association of Secondary Schools Headteachers’ of Uganda -Ntungamo District (ASSHU) 2022, Treasurer Rusheneyi County Headteachers’ SAACO 2022, BOG Staff representatives Ntungamo Girls HS 2016-2018 and Chairperson Ntungamo Girls Staff Association 2013-2014 among many other managerial resposibilities.

Byaruhanga Alex Muganda gained  University teaching experience when he was appointed as a part time Assistant Lecturer at Kabale University in 2022 in the Department of ODEL (Open and Distance Learning) Faculty of education where he was lecturing Education Admnistration to RECESS Secondary and Primary teachers.

From 2023 to date, Byaruhanga Alex Muganda has been  a member of the academic staff in the Department of Vocational Special Needs and Inclusive Education, Faculty of Education at Mountains of the Moon University, where he contributes to higher education teaching, research, innovation, community outreach and professional training of future educators.

Byaruhanga Alex Muganda is also currently serving as the Co-ordinator School Supervised Practice (SSP) and Field attachment (FA) since November 2024 to date, Faculty of Education staff representative to MMUASA 2024-Date and at the same time Minute Secretary for the department 2023-Date. His career reflects progressive leadership, excellence in art and design education, and a strong dedication to educational leadership, management administration and development in the Ugandan Institutions of learning.

Byaruhanga Alex Muganda is a student of  PhD in Fine Art at Maseno University, alongside possessing  two Masters degrees  i.e Master of Commercial Industrial art and Design CGPA 4.39 (Nkumba University), Master of arts in Education  Management CGPA 4.87 (Kabale University), Bachelor of Education Secondary-Art and Design-First Class CGPA 4.52 (Kampala International University), Diploma in Education Secondary-Art and Design (Kyambogo University) and  Certificate in Administrative Officers Law Course  (Bishop Stuart University)
