Kisu Yahaya is a Ugandan lecturer, researcher, consultant, and academic leader specializing in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, and Higher Education. He has over eight years of progressive experience in university teaching, applied research, curriculum development, academic administration, and institutional capacity building. He currently serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Management Sciences, Faculty of Business and Management Sciences at Mountains of the Moon University, Uganda, where he contributes to teaching, research, innovation, quality assurance, and strategic academic development.
He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Supply Chain Management at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), Kenya. He holds a Master of Science in Procurement and Supply Chain Management from Makerere University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Management and Teaching in Higher Institutions of Learning from the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU), and a First Class Honours Bachelor of Procurement and Logistics Management from IUIU.
Kisu has extensive experience teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in procurement, logistics, supply chain management, operations management, research methods, and strategic management. His teaching philosophy emphasizes learner-centred, competency-based, technology-enhanced, and industry-responsive education that equips graduates with practical, analytical, and leadership competencies for today’s dynamic business environment.
As a researcher, his work focuses on procurement and supply chain management, sustainable and green supply chains, public procurement, digital procurement, procurement governance, organizational performance, public sector management, and institutional effectiveness. He has authored and co-authored peer-reviewed journal articles and actively participates in multidisciplinary research, grant proposal development, and knowledge dissemination through conferences, publications, and collaborative research initiatives.
Kisu possesses advanced expertise in quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods research. He is proficient in data analysis and modelling using SPSS, AMOS, SmartPLS, NVivo, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office Suite, with strong capabilities in structural equation modelling (SEM), multivariate statistical analysis, survey design, impact evaluation, and evidence-based policy analysis. His research interests increasingly embrace digital transformation, artificial intelligence applications in supply chain management, sustainability, innovation, and data-driven decision-making.
Beyond academia, he provides consultancy services in procurement and supply chain management, organizational performance improvement, research design, monitoring and evaluation, curriculum development, institutional capacity strengthening, and project management. He has supported organizations in conducting training, developing policies and operational frameworks, reviewing academic programmes, and implementing evidence-based interventions that improve institutional performance.
Throughout his academic career, Kisu has held several leadership positions, including Head of Department of Business Studies at the Islamic University in Uganda. He has played a key role in curriculum review, programme accreditation, academic quality assurance, staff mentorship, research coordination, and strategic planning. His leadership approach promotes collaboration, innovation, ethical governance, and continuous institutional improvement.
He has successfully supervised numerous undergraduate and postgraduate research projects and is passionate about mentoring emerging scholars, strengthening research capacity, and fostering industry-academia partnerships. He has participated in professional development programmes in curriculum design, procurement risk management, higher education pedagogy, research ethics, quality assurance, and leadership, and is a Graduate Fellow of the Institute of Procurement Professionals of Uganda (GFIPPU).
Driven by a commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and societal impact, Kisu Yahaya continues to contribute to the advancement of higher education, sustainable procurement and supply chain management, policy-oriented research, and organizational transformation through teaching, research, consultancy, and community engagement. He remains committed to generating knowledge that informs policy, strengthens institutions, and contributes to sustainable development at national, regional, and global levels.
