Department of Management Sciences

Ronald Aliija is the Head of Department of Management Sciences in the Faculty of Business and Management Sciences at Mountains of the Moon University. He is also a PhD Candidate in Business Administration (Banking and Finance), committed to advancing knowledge through teaching, research, academic leadership, and community engagement.

With over ten years of combined professional and academic experience, Ronald has built a distinguished career in banking, finance, accounting, and higher education. He has taught a broad range of undergraduate courses in banking, finance, accounting, statistics, and business management, while supervising student research and contributing to curriculum development, quality assurance, and institutional governance.

As an academic leader, Ronald has held several administrative responsibilities, demonstrating strong capabilities in strategic planning, team leadership, academic programme management, and institutional development. He is passionate about fostering an inclusive learning environment that promotes academic excellence, innovation, ethical leadership, and lifelong learning.

Ronald’s research interests are primarily in Banking and Finance, with particular emphasis on digital financial innovation, financial inclusion, financial performance, capital structure, corporate finance, financial technology (FinTech), financial institutions, savings and credit cooperative organizations (SACCOs), microfinance, and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). His research focuses on generating practical and policy-relevant evidence that supports financial sector development, organizational performance, and sustainable economic growth in developing economies.

He has authored and co-authored scholarly publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals and actively participates in academic conferences, research collaborations, and professional development initiatives. Ronald is dedicated to producing impactful research, mentoring future professionals, and contributing to the realization of the University’s mission through excellence in teaching, research, community service, and academic leadership.
