MMU Agroecology Club Trained in Innovative and Transformative Skills

Students of the Agroecology Club at Mountains of the Moon University have today been trained in Innovative and Transformative skills by a Team from Roots Africa in a bid to empower them socially and economically.

According to Ms. Kerrin Heba Massarueh the Chief Operations Officer at Roots -Africa – USA, they are training students in Agriculture Technology, Financial Literacy, Women’s empowerment in Agriculture and Community Engagement aligned with the ‘Roots Africa community Transformation Theory of change ‘.

The Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Academic Affairs Prof. John. M. Kasenene appreciated Roots Africa for empowering the Students community at Mountains of the Moon University.

“We appreciate your efforts in helping us as a University to realize our mission of providing Transformative Education, Research and Community Engagement for social Transformation,” he said.

Mr. Clovice Kabaseke the Patron for the Agro-ecology Club at Mountains of the Moon University highlighted that the Training that the students are getting from Roots Africa is helping them to build their capacities of being economically empowered and realizing their vision of being positive change markers in the future.

“The MMU Agroecology club is one of the most active and best networking clubs in our University. It is highly practical and has trained many community groups in Agroecology,” he said.

The President for the MM Agroecology Club Moses Ayebazibwe explained that the Student change markers at MMU are divided into four groups and each group receives a   grant to help them in kickstarting their social enterprises.
