3rd MMU ANNUAL RESEARCH CONFERENCE 2026

THEME

Harnessing Research and Innovation to Strengthen Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development

The 3rd Mountains of the Moon University (MMU) annual research dissemination Conference, aims to provide a platform that brings together researchers, educators, policy makers, industry actors, and development practitioners to share knowledge, showcase innovations, and foster collaboration in the context of applied research and transformational education. By convening like-minded stakeholders, the conference seeks to stimulate dialogue and highlight the research and innovation outputs that are relevant for driving sustainable development and social transformation by bridging the gap between academic research, policymaking and industry application.

Extended Abstract format

All submitted abstracts should be extended abstract (maximum 1 page) focusing on one of the conference sub-themes. The abstract should articulate a brief background of the study, the problem being addressed, the methods employed, major results or expected outcome and conclusions from the study.  The names of the author(s), affiliations, postal, email and telephone contacts of the corresponding author must be below the title. Abstracts can be submitted for either oral or poster presentation.

All submitted abstracts will undergo a double-blind peer review process as they come in, and feedback on acceptance will be communicated via email to the corresponding authors.

Major Sections

Introduction

The research question and hypothesis are clearly stated.

  • The goals and specific objectives of the research are clearly presented.
  • The author(s) have conducted an extensive literature review on the topic, identified a significant gap in the literature, and attempted to fill the gap

Methods and Materials

The research is grounded in a recognized theory with sound theoretical development

Findings and discussions

  • The results are clearly explained
  • Precisely and concisely integrates the findings with literature

Conclusions & Implications

  • The paper draws reasonable conclusions which are clearly explained
  • The significance and applicability of the results for several stakeholders  are discussed
  • The paper expands the readers’ knowledge of the topic
  • The authors acknowledge the limitations of the study

  • The extended abstract must be an original submission not presented
  • or published elsewhere
  • The abstract should be submitted as a MS Word file by e-mail
  • Extended abstract should be no more than 4,000 words, single spaced in Times New Roman 12 point
  • The extended abstract should be written in English
