Estates and Works Department

About

The Estates and works department is responsible for infrastructure development of the University and maintenance of all University structures which include buildings, roads, water, mechanical and electrical works.

The basic roles of Estates and works department is;

  • The maintenance and upkeep of the entire University infrastructure
  • Supervision of Capital projects under construction at the University.
  • Execution of minor civil, electrical and Mechanical Engineering works.
  • Maintenance and management of the University vehicles
  • The custody of the University property
  • To offer technical advice to the University Management.

Achievements

A number of achievements have been realized;

  • The Construction of the Lecture Complex at the Faculty of Agriculture and Environmental science which commenced on 16th August 2023 and has now progressed to 25% physical progress.
  • The Construction of two Pre-fabricated Lecture blocks, now substantially complete soon to be occupied.
  • The Construction of the Security offices which are already occupied.
  • The provision of Office space to the newly recruited staff where by partitioning works have been successfully completed and these deceit offices already occupied.
  • Keeping the University Environment Clean and hygienically safe through close supervision and monitoring of the staff that are involved in the task of ensuring the University is clean and safe.
