PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To teach, supervise students, conduct research, publish and participate in community engagement activities.

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

  1. Should have acquired a PhD either in Tourism, Hospitality Management, Leisure or Recreation studies from a recognized academic institution of higher learning.
  2. Should possess a Masters in Tourism, Hospitality Management, Leisure or Recreation studies from a recognized academic institution of higher learning
  3. Should possess a Bachelors degree in Tourism, Hospitality Management, Leisure or Recreation studies from a recognized academic institution of higher learning.
  4. Should have a clear and good track record of relevant research (publications), teaching and community services of at least 5 years.
  5. Should have a minimum of five (5) years of teaching or industrial experience at a recognized academic institution of higher learning, three (3) of which should have been at the level of a Lecturer, or its equivalent.
  6. Should have at least three (3) scientific internationally peer-reviewed research publications in the relevant discipline.
  7. Should have supervised at least three (3) graduate students to completion, with preferably one (1) at PhD level.
  8. Should have the ability to provide academic research leadership

 

Assistant Lecturer —(Finance and Accounting)

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Assist the Senior Staff in teaching, conducting research, and participating in community engagement activities.

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

  1. Should have at least a Masters’ degree in Accounting and Finance or Business Administration (Accounting and Finance), or Masters in Financial Management from a recognized higher institution of learning.
  2. Should have an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance, Commerce (Accounting or Finance) or Business Administration (Accounting and Finance), or Financial Management, from a recognized institution of higher learning.  
  3. A PhD or on a PhD track in Accounting and Finance or Business Administration (Accounting and Finance) is an added advantage
  4. Should have at least three (3) years of working experience at the level of Teaching Assistant gained from a recognized institution of higher learning.
  5. Should have demonstrated computer skills.

Principal Public Relations and Marketing Officer

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To provide overall leadership to the Communications and Public Relations function of the University.

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

  1. A relevant Master’s Degree in Mass Communication or Journalism from a reputable institution.
  2. A Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication or Journalism or Marketing, or  related area, from a recognized institution of higher learning.
  3. Should have at least Six (6) years of work experience in Public relations in a reputable organization, three (3) of which must be at a Senior level.

Should have demonstrated computer skills.

Principal Internal Auditor

Responsible to: Deputy Director, Internal Auditor

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To provide technical support and guidance on financial performance and quality assurance services in systems of internal control, risk management, and governance processes in the University.

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

  1. Master’s degree in Finance and  Accounting, Business Administration (Accounting and Finance), or Financial management from a recognized institution of higher learning.
  2. An Honours Bachelor Degree in Finance and Accounting, Business Administration (Accounting and Finance)/Commerce (Accounting/Finance), from a recognized institution of higher learning. .
  3. Must have a full professional qualification such as CPA or ACCA, or CIA
  4. Must be a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda
  5. Must be a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors Uganda (IIA).
  6. Should have a minimum of Six (6) years of working experience of service, three (3) of which should have been served as a Senior Internal Auditor in Government or an equivalent level of Audit work experience from a reputable organization
  7. Should have demonstrated computer skills.

Driver

Salary Scale: M15
Responsible to: Head of Department

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To drive University staff, guests and/or any other assigned passenger and ensure general maintenance of motor vehicles.

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

  1. A minimum of O’ level certificate with a pass in English.
  2. A valid driving permit with Class D
  3. A certificate in defensive driving is a must
  4. Elementary Motor Vehicle Mechanics Certificate is an added advantage
  5. Should have a minimum of five (5) years of working experience as a Driver in a reputable Organization. Experience in driving a Bus is a big asset

Security Guard (Female)

Salary Scale: M15
Responsible to: Security Officer

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To oversee the identification, assessment and prioritization of risks, safety and security, while directing all efforts concerned with the security guards of the University.

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

  1. Should have a minimum of O’ level Certificate with Police Training.
  2. Should have three (3) years’ experience in security-related work and must have no criminal record.
