The Department of Environment and Natural Resources has today held a Stake Holder Consultative Meeting at Fort breeze Hotel in Fort Portal City in a bid to develop Curriculum for a Master of Science Degree in Water Resources Management.
According to Prof. Violate Kisaakye a Senior Lecturer at the Department, the Department has involved different stakeholders from different faculties to provide inputs and support in Course Unit Development based on the needs and demands assessment Report.
“A Curriculum that is based on a community-based assessment is important because it ensures that education is relevant, effective and responsive to the actual needs of the people it serves,” she noted.
The Head of Department for Environment and Natural Resources Dr. John Sekajugo explained that this Curriculum Development is specifically under the Project “Strengthening Small Holder Farmer Resilience to Climate Change through Joint Learning, development and evaluation of Contextualized Solutions- A case study of the Rwenzori and Kigezi High land Regions of Uganda (SFR2CC)” a Project that Mountains of the Moon University is jointly running with Kabale University and other Partners.
The major objective of the Consultative Meeting is to develop Course Content for a curriculum in a Master of Science Degree in Water Resources Management.
