Faculty of Business and Management Sciences sensitizes over 1612 Senior Four candidates in Fort-Portal City and Kabarole District about MMU programmes

In a bid to encourage students to join Mountains of the Moon University (MMU), the Faculty of Business and Management Sciences (FBMS) has embarked on a secondary school  sensitization program about the programmes being offered by Mountains of the Moon University.

Led by the Faculty Dean – FBMS, Dr. Joanita Kataike and Mr. Kaija Mark, Assistant Lecturer in the same faculty, last week met over 1612 senior four candidates from five different schools in and around Fort-Portal City and Kabarole District respectively. These included: Kyebambe Girls Secondary School, Mpanga Secondary School, Fort-Portal Secondary School, Nyakasura Secondary School  and West Ville School.

In an exclusive interview, Dr. Joanita Kataike, explains that there has been an information gap and most of our students in secondary schools need to be guided on their career paths, and this gives them direction on what exactly they would like to be in future.

The Faculty of Business and Management Sciences has started this and it will be an annual activity that will take place whenever candidates are about to sit for their final exams, Dr. Joanita says. “We intend to go back to those secondary schools on 18th November 2022, to also meet and talk to senior six candidates; to wish them success in their examination, and give them inspirational messages and experiences” she added.

Most of the students that the team met were not shy to show their excitement as it was their first time to interact with Mountains of the Moon University staff.
