Following the job advertisement that run in the print media in September 2022 for academic, administrative and support positions which were tenable at Mountains of the Moon University (MMU) then, MMU is happily welcoming a total of 74 new staff who successfully went through the job interviews.
In a memo dated 2nd January 2023 to all staff and students signed by Dr. Edmond Kagambe the University Secretary (US), copied to the Vice-Chancellor, University Bursar, Academic Registrar and Senior Human Resource Officer indicates that a total of 30 staff were recruited as Administrative and Support staff while 44 staff were recruited as Academic staff for the different 6 faculties – Agriculture and Environmental Sciences; Education; Health Sciences; Business and Management Sciences; Humanities and Social Sciences; Science, Technology and Innovation.
Of the 44 academic staff recruited Faculty of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences took 15, Faculty of Education 10, Faculty of Science, Technology and Innovation 9, Faculty of Business and Management Science 6, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences 2 and Faculty of Health Sciences 2.
“I am pleased to inform you that the Appointments Board of the Mountains of the Moon University under Minute number 114/MMU-AB/11/22 appointed the new staff in the service of Mountains of the Moon in accordance with the Universities and Other Tertiary Institutions Act, 2001 as Amended.” reads the memo in part.
Among the filled positions in the administrative and support section include: University Librarian, Dean of Students, Director ICT, Deputy Director Human Resources, Principal Human Resource Officer, Principal Planning Officer, Principal e-Learning Administrator, Principal Quality Assurance Officer, Principal Public Relations and Marketing Officer. Others include: Senior e-learning Administrator, Senior Data Base Administrator, Senior Quality Assurance Officer, 4 Senior Assistant Registrars, Senior Program Coordinator ODel, Civil Engineer, Counselor and Administrative Secretary among others.
In other University news, Busoga University Task-force Management Committee concluded a 2 day bench marking visit to MMU where they met Top University Management, Deans of Faculties and other staff that once worked closely with the MMU transition task-force to learn lessons and to pick the best practices that would be instrumental in their work.
